What is Laser-Assisted Hatching?
Laser-assisted hatching gently thins the outer shell of an embryo to help it implant, and is used in selected IVF cases — for example with certain previous failures or specific embryo characteristics. It is recommended on indication, not routinely.

Before transfer, a precise laser thins part of the embryo's outer layer (the zona) to support hatching and implantation in cases where that may help.
Questions people ask
Should every IVF embryo have assisted hatching?
No. It's used selectively, based on factors like previous implantation failure or specific embryo characteristics. Adding it routinely isn't supported. Your embryologist will recommend it only when there's a clear, individual reason.
