What is Laparoscopy?
Laparoscopy is keyhole surgery that lets a specialist examine and treat pelvic conditions — such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts or blocked tubes — through small incisions. It's used selectively, when it will genuinely change the plan, not by default.
When it can help
- Suspected or known endometriosis affecting fertility
- Certain ovarian cysts (e.g. endometriomas)
- Assessment or treatment of tubal and pelvic factors

- A less invasive test would answer the question just as well.
What laparoscopy involves
Through small keyhole incisions, a camera and fine instruments let the specialist see and, where appropriate, treat pelvic conditions in the same procedure.
