After IVF, the due date is calculated from the embryo transfer date and the embryo's age. For a day-5 blastocyst, it's roughly 261 days from transfer. Because the timing is precisely known, IVF dating is often very reliable — your care team confirms it with a scan.
Why does the embryo's day matter?
The embryo's age at transfer (day 3, 5 or 6) changes how far along the pregnancy already is on transfer day, so it shifts the due-date calculation by a few days. The tool accounts for this when you select the embryo day.
